The PROBE WG1 subgroup on ABL detection over complex terrains intends to increase the collaboration and the information exchange.
The second meeting of the complex terrain subgroup adresses peculiarities of ABL measurement in complex topography.

Meeting agenda

  1. Welcome

  2. Keynote presentation + questions: Challenges of atmospheric boundary-layer observations in orographically complex terrain by Stefan Emeis

  3. Presentation + discussion about a list of references on ABL measurement in complex topography by Martine Collaud Coen

  4. Can combining the strengths of different ground-based remote sensors overcome their individual weakness in measuring thermodynamic profiles in complex terrain? by Laura Bianco

  5. Sampling the mountain boundary layer evolution with remote sensing, aircraft, and upper-air sounding instrumentation during the CROSSINN campaign by Nevio Babić

  6. Investigating across-scale interaction using in-situ measurements and remote sensors in a heavily-urbanized complex terrain by Laura Herrera-Mejía

The goals of this meeting are 1) to provide an overview of difficulties and specificities of MoBL and 2) to present the structure of a literature review of ABL measurement in complex terrain.
