DESCRIPTION;ALTREP="CID:<FFFF__=0ABBE548DFE235B58f9e8a93d@coffeebean.com>":
The automatic algorithm STRATfinder (Kotthaus et al. 2020) is increasingly
applied to detect mixed-layer heights from attenuated backscatter profile
observations. This meeting of the WG2 ABL subgroup has two overarching ob
jectives\n\nThe STRATfinder development team (IPSL) is going to summarise
recent updates of the algorithm and provide an overview on current uncerta
inties and limitations. This includes aspects of pre-processing (e.g. cali
bration\, overlap correction)\, the layer detection algorithm\, as well as
the automatic quality control procedure.\nAny users of STRATfinder are in
vited to share their experience with the tool\, report on potential issues
\, and highlight how the results are being exploited for their research.\n
\nWe would also like to discuss how future developments of the tool could
be achieved through community efforts.\nAnyone is invited to join this ope
n meeting.\nIf you would like to contribute with a short presentation on y
our STRATfinder user experience\, please email simone.kotthaus@ipsl.fr by
monday 12th June 2023.\nAccess details for the virtual meeting are provide
 d in the file below.\n
