WG2: advanced ABL profiling

Tasks

T2.1: Organize a review of stakeholder needs in term of ABL parameters, for each stakeholder group. Produce material (reports, reviews, white papers) to serve as a reference during and beyond the action.
T2.2: Investigate the potential of instrument synergy for the development of higher-level products and best estimates of key ABL parameters (as identified in T2.1). Coordinate with existing field experiment efforts to develop and test new and improved methods.
T2.3: Organize critical review of minimum measurement-product requirements for assimilation and long-term reanalysis relevant to the different stakeholder groups. Implement tools for NWP data assimilation and long-term reanalysis. Coordinate the exploitation of the developed tools for data assimilation experiments and long-term multi-variable reanalysis for climatology and climate monitoring purposes.

Deliverables

D2.1: Reports, white and review papers on key ABL parameters, their applications, and the end- user requirements.

D2.2: Scientific papers on instrument synergy.

D2.3: Recommendations for measurement-product requirements for data assimilation and long- term reanalysis of multi-variable ABL profiling dataset.
