Interested in the ABL in complex terrain settings? WG1 is inviting you to join the first workshop addressing ABL measurements in this specific environment. Are you involved in conducting observations? Or are you interested in respective data, e.g. for purposes of model evaluation? – all are welcome!

GOAL OF THE MEETING: get to know each other, gain an overview of the running and upcoming projects concerned with ABL dynamics in complex topography and initiate collaborations.

PROGRAM:

1) Welcome and brief round of introductions

2) Presentation by Martine Collaud Coen summarising published studies on ABL profiling in complex topography + questions and discussion. We would like to collect your suggestions for other relevant papers.

3) Presentation by Helen Ward on the TEAMx Observational Campaign (with a focus on ABL profiling) + questions and discussion. We are interested in hearing about other potential sites, instruments, research topics, etc, and if you're interested in being involved.

4) Presentation and discussion about research interests, ongoing studies and future projects (everyone, 2-3 minutes 1 slide each)

5) A general discussion on what we want to achieve with this subgroup on complex terrain (e.g. aims of the group, potential collaborations, involvement in TEAMx, role within PROBE)

TASKS FOR PARTICIPANTS: prepare 1 slide showing their own research interests, ongoing studies and future projects
