Research fellowship (12 months) within the MAXM project

Position: research fellowship (borsa di ricerca)
Duration: 12 months, starting from Apr 2024
Salary: roughly 1600€/month net
Project: MAXM, Machine learning of the statistics of Atmospheric eXtremes in Mountain regions
Pre-requisites: MSc in Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, Informatics or a related field. Good
programming skills for data analysis, e.g. Python, MATLAB or similar. Strong background in
physics. A previous experience in Machine Learning is preferred but not required.

The fellow will work with Dr. Davide Fazzini to develop and test the machine learning algorithms
and with Dr. Matteo Borgnino and Dr. Agostino N Meroni to interpret and understand the physics
of the problem (with strong interactions within the OCCAM group, led by prof. C. Pasquero
https://sites.google.com/unimib.it/pasquero/home?authuser=0). Collaborations with other
universities and the possibility of a visiting period abroad are envisaged.
